Technology Lab
Technology is integrated into our curriculum in many ways. Teachers incorporate a technology component to their lesson plans. Students have access to our computer lab, which is composed of 30 desktop computers, on a regular basis throughout the week. During their time in the lab the students conduct research via the internet. They also learn how to use programs such as Word, Excel and to create PowerPoint presentations. Additionally, 24 laptop computers are available for classroom use in grades 6-8. Finally, each classroom in grades K-5 have four desktop computer available for student use. Student Response Cards This new technology is a little device looks and acts like a TV remote. During instruction the teacher will pose questions in the MEAP format, each student will be able to answer through a "click" of the buttons on their cards. The answers are then displayed, as a class allowing opportunity for all to discuss each of the answers. So, students are engaged. Teachers get immediate feedback. Instruction is based upon current student data. We are very excited about this technology. Listening Centers Each classroom has been outfitted with brand new CD/cassette Listening Centers which can accommodate six students at a time. |
